Oswaldtwistle Mills – 6 miles/12 min drive
Based in a former cotton weaving mill, Oswaldtwistle Mills has a long history. You’ll find all the gift inspiration you could need: scented candles, arts and crafts supplies, sewing machines, contemporary furniture and home furnishings, lighting and an impressive range of clothes, shoes and accessories including many leading high-street brands, a colourful garden centre, a gourmet food deli and butchers, old fashioned sweet shop and more! There are plenty of refreshment options on site – from the contemporary Cafe Nova to the Hungry Tackler, Pavillion Coffee Shop, the chic Terrace Tea Room or Scoops indulgent Ice Cream Parlour.
Burnley Town Centre – 4 miles/10 min drive
In Burnley there are all the high street favourites, including a brand new Primark, a large M&S, Next, New Look, Pandora, River Island and more. Try Standish Street for independent boutiques including Joules, and Lower St James St for the art gallery Howarth Gallery and the area’s only vegan restaurant Onesixty. For the vintage lovers check out the range of charity shops too.

Colne – 8 miles/15 min drive
Colne is a small market town with a high street fully of quirky independent businesses. Try Live Like The Boy or A White Room for unusual interiors, Tubbs of Colne for Mediterranean food, No. 62 for vintage tea and cake, or About Coffee for a stop while you explore what else is on offer.
Clitheroe – 8 miles/ 17 min drive
Clitheroe is another market town, this time in the Ribble Valley – the high street is dominated by the castle which is worth visiting just for the amazing views. Independent businesses flourish here including Holmes Mill with an amazing food hall, Beryl’s for fabulous shoes, Elan for unusual designer wear, and Callooh Callay for an Alice in Wonderland themed coffee shop, just to name a few.
Also just a 40 minute drive or 50 minute train journey away, you can be in Manchester, which has Selfridges, Harvey Nichols, House of Fraser and everything else you’d expect from a thriving city.
