What is Married At First Sight?

MAFS is essentially an extreme match-making experiment with the aim of helping British singles find true love. The Married At First Sight couples are paired up by relationship experts and agree to marry when they first meet each other at the altar. They then spend the following weeks honeymooning, living together and getting to know each other, before deciding whether they want to stay married.

When is Married At First Sight On?

The show airs every Monday to Thursday at 9pm on E4. You can stream all episodes of Married At First Sight on Channel 4 online.

Is Married At First Sight Real?

Many viewers will be curious to know whether the marriages on the show are actually real. They are, in fact, not legal weddings and the couples on the show can choose to separate at the end of the experiment without legal complications. However, the weddings seen in the first five series of Married At First Sight UK were official.

In terms of the drama that takes place on the show, former Married At First Sight participants have confirmed that this is not fake or scripted and that the producers try to keep it as authentic as possible. While it has been shared that the producers sometimes tell the couples to talk about certain topics at the dinner parties, the drama that unfolds is very real.
